Kearsarge Neighborhood Partners Seedlings Fund Program
KNP "Seedlings Fund" Program-- A THREE-YEAR MINI-GRANT PROGRAM will allow KNP to fund projects proposed by individuals and organizations in the Kearsarge region. Ideal projects will be replicable or have the potential to be scaled up if successful, so that their impact can multiply. They will also have a designated element of reciprocity, giving those helped by a project an opportunity to contribute back to the community. We love fostering a "seedling" of an idea that can grow over time or in other places! Click here to see the application and read more about the program. Please email us (info@knpnh.org) if you have further questions.

Nature Explorers (July 21-23) is for children ages 6-10 and is co-sponsored by the Lake Sunapee Protective Association (LSPA). Spring Garden Tips
As the weather warms, it’s tempting to jump into spring garden cleanup. But before you grab your rake this weekend, consider how your actions impact pollinators and other insects. By delaying cleanup, adjusting your approach, and doing less overall, you can provide essential habitat and support biodiversity. Here are some recommendations and best practices:
- Timing Matters: You may have heard the advice to "leave the leaves" in the fall, but what about spring? The best approach is to wait until temperatures stay consistently above 50°F (10°C), or until apple and pear blossoms have faded. However, many insects continue developing in leaf litter throughout spring and summer, so leaving some plant material year-round provides the best habitat.
- Why Leaves Matter: Leaves are more than garden debris—they provide essential shelter for pollinators and other beneficial insects.
How to Clean Up Thoughtfully: Instead of removing all organic material, adopt a balanced approach:
- Move, Don’t Remove: Relocate thick or matted leaves to less visible areas like garden edges, under shrubs, or compost piles. Lighter leaves can remain in place.
- Fluff, Don’t Bag: Loosen dense leaf layers to allow light, rain, and emerging plants to penetrate.
- Tidy Selectively: Clear leaves only from high-visibility areas like garden borders and paths.
- Avoid using leaf blowers or shredders.
A gentler, more mindful cleanup not only helps your garden thrive but also gives pollinators the shelter they need to survive and flourish. Read more details in the full article: https://nhaudubon.org/spring-garden-cleanup-supporting.../

Support the 8th Grade Celebration
Hi friends as the school year ends the 8th graders are getting ready to move on to HS some stay and some move on to private schools. Every year THE PARENTS put on an 8th grade celebration. We try to really transform the cafeteria in a magical dance area. The school provides the location but the rest is up to parents to pull off. This event couldn’t happen if our awesome family’s and community business don’t contribute. I’m going to share the Amazon wish list and our goFundMe page. Any donations or purchases are greatly appreciated. Anything that is reusable is collected after the dance and put in storage so other years can use it if any businesses would like to make a tax deductible donation. Please reach out to me and I can point you in the right direction to do that! all money raised that we do not use this year stays for the next year to build use. so please if you can make a donation purchase something off the wish list so we can send these kids off with an epic memory that the kids will carry with them the rest of their life.
